At the 30th meeting of the Climate, Energy and Environment Ministers, the seven major countries (G7) agreed to phase out coal-fired power generation without emission reduction measures and to increase the storage capacity needed to expand renewable energy by 6.5 times in the world by 2030, compared to 22 years ago.Coal-fired power generates a large amount of greenhouse gas emissions, including carbon dioxide (CO2), among fossil fuels.
