The European Parliament did not recognise Putin’s re-election, including thanks to Russian anti-war activists. How did they do it and what can it affect? — New newspaper Europe

The European Parliament considers the Russian presidential elections to be neither democratic nor legitimate. In the resolution adopted on April 24, the EP called the voting "neither free nor fair", as well as "a farce" for "creating the appearance of electoral legitimacy". Deputies also noted that the voting took place, among other places, in territories occupied by Ukraine.
