The Chairwoman of the Seimas would support the debate on the amendment of the criminal procedure but would not initiate it herself

Seimas President Viktorija Čmilytė-Nielsen says that it is possible to discuss a change in the criminal procedure, but she herself will not initiate such a change. Thus she spoke to parliamentarian Remigijus Žemaitaitis after deciding to renounce the mandate of a Seimas member and thus after the unfavourable decision of the Constitutional Court (CJ) avoiding the ban on being elected for ten years.
