On Thursday, 7 August, the prosecutor in Le Havre announced that a young man of about 20 years of age, suspected of having caused at least seven acts of violence against equidae, had been placed in pre-trial detention.
The young man is accused of killing five horses and seriously wounding ten others in Normandy. He will be tried on 26 September in Le Havre and will face up to five years in prison.
It is human blood found on one of the equidae that led to the arrest of the suspect at the beginning of the week. This young man about twenty years old, placed in pre-trial detention on Wednesday, will be tried for "serious abuse and acts of cruelty".
For several weeks, horses were found mutilated in the Seine-Maritime, without the author or the motive being known

A man was taken into custody as part of the investigation into several cases of horse mutilation in Le Havre (Seine-Maritime).
Eleven equidae have been attacked since May, three of them succumbing to their injuries.
