FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP, NEW JERSEY, AUG 2 – Ricardo Jorge Santos killed his ex-girlfriend and her boyfriend after months of harassment; the suspect died by suicide, investigators said.
- On August 2, 2025, authorities discovered the deceased bodies of 33-year-old Dr. Lauren Semanchik and 29-year-old firefighter Tyler Webb inside Semanchik’s residence in Pittstown, New Jersey.
- The fatalities occurred after emergency dispatchers received reports the previous evening of gunfire and loud distress from the residence, and the incident is thought to involve New Jersey State Police Sergeant Ricardo Santos, who was formerly in a relationship with Semanchik.
- Video showed Santos following Semanchik from her workplace to her home, and investigators found a semiautomatic handgun in the vehicle where Santos later died by suicide in Piscataway.
