G7 Environment Committee adopts declaration that coal-fired power will be "abolished in the first half of the 2030s"

The G7 Climate, Energy and Environment Council, held in Trino, northern Italy, adopted a joint declaration on 30 June, including the phasing out of coal-fired power generation in the first half of the 2030s, as measures to reduce carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions have not been implemented.
