Aust shares give back gains, sink into the red by noon

The benchmark S&P/ASX200 index was down 5.1 points, or 0.07 per cent, to 7,638.5. Energy was the biggest mover, falling two per cent as Brent crude hit an 11-day low of $US81.20 a barrel. Big Four banks were having a fairly quiet morning, with ANZ flat, Westpac down 0.1 per cent and NAB dipping 0.3 per cent.
