Governor suspends Georgia gas taxes through mid-September
Georgia’s governor is extending the suspension of the state’s motor fuel tax through mid-September. Gov. Brian Kemp on Wednesday signed an executive order extending the suspension for a third time.

Governor Brian Kemp announced Wednesday morning he would extend the state’s gas tax holiday for one more month through Monday, September 12th. The tax suspension saves Georgians about 30 cents per gallon for gas and 33 cents per gallon for diesel.Gas prices have been slowly on the decline during the last few weeks. According to AAA, the current average for gas across Georgia is $3.74 a gallon compared to the national average of $4.18 a gallon.A …
